Photography began for me with an old, film camera when I was only a child. It fascinated me to discover how it worked: how the film is exposed and then developed, how the picture slowly appears on photo paper in a darkroom. Fascination transformed into a need to learn. Quickly, I learned the technical aspect of photography and for most of my life the technical aspect was the only part that I associated with photography.

It was many, many years later that I began to realize that there is more to Photography than the technical knowledge I had previously focused on. For me it is the art of seeing and capturing images that can squeeze emotions from those who view them. I am very new at this art and hope to one day excel at it. For now – I am learning and doing my best.
